Windows Server ‘Longhorn’: Granular Password Settings
Very interesting post on a new feature in Active Directory Domain Services on Windows Server ‘Longhorn’. It is about granular password settings.
It will be possible to assign different set of password settings across one single domain. Lonhorn enables the administrator to apply password settings on a group and user basis.
It requires some ADSIEdit manipulation, but is still usable.
I have to say that this is really useful. This mechanism will allow companies to have hardened security on admin accounts, for instance, while “in the past”, it would require a separate domain to be set up.
